France has issued an international arrest warrant for Carlos Ghosn, the disgraced former boss of Renault-Nissan, over allegations that he used an Omani car dealer to siphon off millions of euros for a yacht and other personal expenses.

The order springs from an investigation in Nanterre in western Paris that has found grounds for accusing Ghosn, 68, of colluding with Suhail Bahwan Automobiles (SBA) to divert more than €15 million in payments from the Renault-Nissan alliance for the 120ft yacht, registered under the name of his wife, Carole, and for lavish personal spending. French warrants were also issued for four present and former SBA executives.

Ghosn, who holds French, Lebanese and Brazilian nationalities, was questioned by French investigators last year in Beirut, where he fled
